Some of the first European settlers to this continent arrived on these shores to escape religious persecution by an authoritarian government. Our founding fathers put religious freedom in the first clause of the first amendment for a reason. Political and legal persecution of religious communities by the current regime, whether it be pro-life citizens and groups targeted by the DOJ, the denial of religious exemptions related to vaccine mandates in our military and civil service, churches being shuttered during COVID, taxpayer-funded abortion at home and abroad, the right to silently pray on the field at the end of a football game, the persecution of business owners for refusing to bake a cake, or through many other examples, the erosion of religious liberty is undeniable. Once again, an authoritarian government persecutes the free exercise of religion and believes the citizens will simply comply. It is time for the people to declare, “THIS MUST STOP!”
